Game 4 Recap

On a snowy Friday night, Superbad FC looked to their seasoned veterans to put on a show, and they did not disappoint. Raffi Nazarethian started in net for the second game in a row, looking to even up his keeper record. SBFC came out of the gates strong, with Jason Morgan putting in a first half beauty off a pass from Juan Dussan. New Caledonia AK retaliated with a goal of their own later in the half, setting the game to a draw at half time. SBFC started the second half much like the first, laying shot after shot into the guts of the New Caledonia AK defenders. Jason Morgan set an SBFC record, taking over 10 shots that could not find their way through the crowd to the back of the net. Steven Carias also set his own SBFC record for blocking 2 of those shots. Blocked shots aside, the game pressed on and New Caledonia AK took a 2-1 lead after connecting on a pass that grazed the fingertips of Raffi Nazarethian. With minutes winding down, SBFC needed a miracle to get back in the game, and they got it from Angelo Rizzi. With 10 minutes to play Rizzi took a pass from Michael Fanelli to the back line and rocketed a shot passed a screened goalie to tie up the game at 1 apiece. With only minutes remaining in the contest, Angelo Rizzi rocketed another shot served up by Juan Dussan, giving SBFC the lead. SBFC continued its strong defensive play to close out the game and take the 3-2 win.

MOTM honors go to Angelo Rizzi. Next Match is Friday February 17 at 11:35pm.
